Love the game — and your musings about it and real human connection.

Yes, we have similar creative topics! This past year, I choreographed a modern dance piece for a group of women, 40+ about the empty nest. It helped me during a big year of transition as my twin daughters were going off to college. I love discovering that other people are writing and sharing about this important time of life that I don’t think we talk enough about.

I haven't heard of the Connections game, but I like your other suggestions for connecting.

Thanks, Nancy! You should try Connections...it's tricky at first, but you catch on to patterns after a bit, and feel so good (i.e. smart!) when you can solve it with no errors!

Hi , Linda, I really enjoyed this and it made me think. I loved Connections the NYT game (and Wordle) but recently discontinued my NYT subscription. Since I retired, I make sure to have at least one get together with friends per week to keep up those connections. It's been really good to have the time to do that. I also am loving making connections here on Substack!

Thanks, Cherie! I’m glad you’re seeing your friends regularly. And I also love my Substack connections! FYI, I’ve never had a NYT subscription…I play through the free versions online!
