I confess I'm not a Billy Joel fan (not opposed either, more in the neutral zone) but this is a lovely essay weaving together so many relevant themes.

We will hit 25 years of marriage in May and we're definitely in the middle of figuring out how to continue to stoke the romance!

This piece also reminds me of seeing the Beach Boys in concert several years ago with my three girls-our youngest's first ever concert!

Oh my! The Beach Boys would be so much fun! And isn't it fun to see our kids loving some of the things we loved? My girls were so excited when Billy Joel came out with his new song (I wouldn't have known if they hadn't informed me).

Thanks for your kind words. I'm glad the post inspired you despite your neutral feelings about the Piano Man!

I've always been a Billy Joel fan and his absence has only made my heart grow fonder. Is it too late? Never! As I leave the world of the blackboard jungle and devote myself to a writing--and maybe speaking--ministry, I keep telling myself it's only too late if it's never done.

I love this, Linda! So true. We all just do what we can do, as time, energy, and inspiration allow!
