Thanks for sharing your trip to Alaska. A friend of mine lived in Anchorage for a long time and she regularly sent me photos of a moose walking down her street. She also told me a startling statistic of the amount of bears that live there but now I can’t remember it.
I love that you paused to ask God what the focus of your newsletter was meant to be. I’ve become aware of my fears in the last six years or so and even though I’m making headway, I’ve figured out that at all times a small motor of fear is always running. But acknowledging the motor is a good first step.
Aimee, you are so right. If we don't acknowledge the fear, we'll never overcome it! I think I wrote this piece as much for myself as for my readers. I was really unsure about the story and my "motor of fear" was running very loudly as I hit "publish." I'm glad to hear it's connected with some of my readers, including you, and thank you for sharing!
Thanks for sharing your adventures with us! Not sure I'll ever get to Alaska, but my current Bible study is about Moses and how he needed to "take what was in his hand" and use it. We may not have all the tools, but God can use what we DO have.
I love the "tool" reminder! A great metaphor to go along with our fears too. I've recently learned how to use a drill, but I'm always a little afraid I'm going to really mess something up when I use it, LOL! Thanks for the comment and for using your tools so beautifully in YOUR writing!
