Stories of faith, family, travel, cycling, and more to inspire you to find joy in your everyday–especially during your empty-nest years. This is where your new story begins.
Hi, I’m Linda.
I’m wife to Tom, Mom to Jared, Seth, Leah, and Chloe, MIL to Maddie, and I’m Grandma Lala too!
I’m inspired by my everyday experiences and perspectives as a parent and empty-nester. Through biking, traveling, parenting my adult children, and spending time with family and friends, I capture stories to encourage you in your everyday.
If your nest is full-for-now, soon-to-be-empty, or all the birds have flown, my message is one of promise and possibility on your journey!
Why subscribe?
It’s FREE! At this time I offer all my online writing at no cost. Of course, if you’d like to show a little love and support an independent writer, there is a “paid” option for less than the price of a cup of coffee a month.
You’ll get my newsletter 2-4 times per month, delivered right to your inbox (or your Substack app). My stories will encourage (and hopefully entertain!) you.
Every two months I share my Bookstack, a “stack” of books I’ve read, reviewed, and might recommend.
You’ll also get access to my Free Resource Library, where you’ll find digital downloads—like the “Empty Nest to MIGHTY Nest” guide—playlists, recipes, and more!
All the deets.
Whether I’m blogging, freelancing, or working on a book, my writing is an expression of who I am, a colorful image of the life I’ve been given, and the people and things that surround me. My story comes to life when the words on my page touch your heart and soul.
I love a great metaphor as much as a good cup of coffee, a glass of red wine, or a square of dark chocolate; all of which are better when shared with a friend.
I’m a semi-retired school Speech Language Pathologist, and in my spare hours, I pursue the things I love. My husband and I are into biking, especially on the trails of Michigan, Indiana, and Minnesota…the places we call “home”.
When I’m not writing or biking, I enjoy reading, gardening, backyard bird-watching, playing with my grandchildren, kayaking, knitting, digital scrapbooking, fishing, and spending time at our cabin “up north”.
In my writing, as in life, my goal is to be real. I know that means my faults and weaknesses might be exposed. But it’s okay. I believe in the grace and forgiveness of Jesus Christ, and the unconditional love of my heavenly Father. Even my messy, imperfect life can be a source of joy and beauty when he shines His light through me. I hope you will find in me a friend and confidante you can trust.
And so, I give you my words. As you take them in, I hope you’ll pause, ponder, and see patches of the Light shining through them.
Won’t you come along?
My subscribers form a community that seeks to find joy in the every day, especially after the kids have flown the nest. Are you an empty nester, or a soon-to-be one? Perhaps you know someone who is. If so, please consider sharing!
