Announcing "The Next Chapter Book Club!"
You're invited to join the fun!
In case you missed the news in my last post, I’m hoping to start a book club for all you readers in life’s next chapter. In other words, if you can read a novel, you’re invited!
Based on my recent reader survey, I expect most of us will be 55-75 year-old women. But if you’re younger or older, you’re still welcome of course!
Are you a book lover? Or maybe you’d like to read more, but need a little encouragement. Do you enjoy discussing books with others, especially when you find someone who has read the same one?
My hope is that The Next Chapter Book Club becomes more than a discussion group. I imagine a place where readers connect over books, share ideas, and build friendships with others who are navigating a similar season of life. If this sounds like something for you, read on!
All the details:
Join me for a one-time book discussion on Tuesday, July 14th (time TBD based on needs of those who sign up).
Initial responses and attendees will help me determine if there’s enough interest to make a go of it. We’ll also discuss frequency (bimonthly? quarterly?), and the best day and time to meet.
We’ll use the online platform, Google Meets. It’s similar to Zoom and easy to use.
In July, we’ll discuss The Correspondent,* by Virginia Evans. (Read my review HERE.) I really enjoyed this book, but would love to know what you think about it!
Our first meeting is in less than 3 weeks, so you may need to act quickly if you haven’t read the book yet.
Interested? Leave a comment below to let me know…
…if a different day works better for you.
…which time of day is best—morning, afternoon, or evening?
…if you’d prefer a bimonthly or quarterly schedule.
…if you’ve read The Correspondent.
If you plan to join our first meeting, RSVP (ASAP) by leaving a comment or sending a private message. I’ll add you to the list and send you the meeting link before July 14th!
If you can’t make it on the 14th but want to join future meetings, I’d really like to know so I can gauge if there’s enough interest to continue.
If the pilot group goes well, I’ll likely make The Next Chapter Book Club an ongoing benefit for paid subscribers. (My paid subscribers pay as little as $3/month, but if money is an obstacle to you joining, I can gift you a paid subscription, no questions asked 🧡.)
I look forward to hearing from you!

Definitely want to be in the book club. I have listened to The Correspondent but plan on reading it as well before July meeting. I am open most days, except Saturday mornings. Evening are harder for me as I sit with an friend who is in palliative care until 8:00 pm CDT Long term like bimonthly. Just finished Whistler and would love to discuss it!
Sure, I'd be interested! Tuesday is good - either morning or after 5:00 p.m. CST Also open to other days such as M or Th. Haven't read The Correspondant but it sounds intriguing. Also, not an empty nester. More of a never had a nest.
